Schedule of Events

We are working on the Schedule of Events for the 2024 StarFest event, and have secured our keynote speaker for the event:

Dr. Olivia H. Wilkins is an astrochemist and artist using radio astronomy observations and laboratory experiments to understand the evolution of chemistry from star-forming regions to solar system bodies such as comets. She earned her Ph.D. in chemistry at Caltech, after which she was a NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellow at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Now, she is headed to Dickinson College to build her own astrochemistry research program as a chemistry professor. Dr. Wilkins also holds a B.S. in Chemistry and Mathematics from Dickinson, spent a year in Germany as a Fulbright Research Fellow, and was named a 2022 CAS Future Leader (CAS is a Division of the American Chemical Society). She wrote and illustrated the Astrochemistry volume for the American Chemical Society’s In Focus Series. In addition to research and creating artwork to share science with others, Dr. Wilkins loves traveling, coffee shops, and exploring National Parks with her husband and their son. 

During the day, tour the telescopes and take part in the program of events.  When darkness arrives, join the club for some guided star gazing.
